Financial Help to go on Retreat

The teachings that are given at Lerab Ling by Sogyal Rinpoche and other teachers are offered free of charge. The daily fee for attending these teachings and other events represents your contribution towards the travel and other expenses of  hosting teachers and presenters, as well as organizational costs.

Our aim is to try  and  keep our daily rates for retreats as low as possible. The Standard Rate that we ask retreatants to pay barely covers our operating costs, so we set that rate to balance our needs with those of yours. For our financial health, we need as many retreatants as possible to pay this rate, but we acknowledge that for some people it is not possible to afford this.

The Concession Rate

Our commitment is to enable  anyone who wishes to come to Lerab Ling  on retreat, either to try out meditation or to take their practice further,  to have access to the program, whatever their financial circumstances. For this reason we propose  a concession rate for those who need it. The Concession Rate is available for those who cannot afford the Standard Rate.

If you wish to choose this rate, you must indicate this when you book your retreat.

However if you are unable to pay the Concession Rate and need even more  financial assistance, an application can be made to the Retreatant Support Fund for additional  support.

The Retreatant Support Fund

This fund was established to help those who for personal reasons canno't afford  the full costs of our retreats. It is financed by donations from other meditators students who pay the Retreat Sponsor Rate and by cancelled deposits. It allows a limited number of students  to be subsidised on group retreats, by providing the  complementary funds.

The fund is run by a comittee in Lerab Ling which gets together on a regular basis to study each individual request. Please note however that the fund won't always be able to support your full request, and that you will always be encouraged within your possibilities to provide some form of contribution.
