We all want to be happy.
But often the relentless pace and challenges of life make it impossible to know where to look for happiness.

meditatorThrough the wisdom of meditation, however, we can find peace and contentment. To our amazement, we discover a profound stillness and clarity that is always with us, beneath the turbulence of all our thoughts and emotions.

By allowing our mind to settle more and more in this natural clarity in a very spacious and relaxed way, then what happens is quite extraordinary: we begin to discover the sky-like nature of our mind.

This in turn brings a certain stability, with which we can face life and the complexity of the world, with carefree dignity, with composure, ease and humour.

This retreat offers the opportunity to receive a complete introduction to meditation
through the teachings of Sogyal Rinpoche, a world-renowned Buddhist teacher from Tibet and the author of the highly acclaimed The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. Having taught in the West for more than thirty years, Rinpoche has a remarkable ability to bring together over 2,500 years of Buddhist wisdom and experience in a way that is authentic, accessible and completely relevant to today’s world.

A retreat for beginners & advanced meditators| During the first half of the retreat, some of Rinpoche’s most experienced Western instructors will provide a thorough introduction to meditation, guiding students step-by-step through the fundamentals of the practices, in accordance with Sogyal Rinpoche’s instructions. In the second half of the retreat, these teachings will be deepened, leading students to a profound experience of what meditation really is, in the deepest sense.

In addition to the teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche and his senior students, there will be time for individual and group study and practice, as well as guided practices and presentations.

Lerab Ling templeEnjoy the tranquil, natural environment in southern France | The teachings will be held in the unique atmosphere of Lerab Ling, home to what many consider to be the largest and most authentic Tibetan Buddhist temple in Europe, and perhaps even in the West. So many great Tibetan masters have been inspired by Lerab Ling’s sacred environment, likening it to a pure land. Here you can discover a genuine experience of meditation, and find all the tools you need to take the benefits into every aspect of your life.
