.........."In the stillness and silence of retreat, ..........we glimpse and return to that deep inner nature ..........that we have so long ago lost sight of ..........amid the busyness and distraction of our minds." ..................................................................Sogyal Rinpoche
Contemplative breaks
Lerab Ling welcomes anyone who wishes a contemplative pause in life, respecting the spiritual tradition of each individual.
Instructors who have done the three-year retreat under the guidance of Sogyal Rinpoche, help you setting up a schedule and frame your retreat, and support you throughout your stay.
Although the accent is put on free time and personal practice, a programme is offered to support your retreat: meditation course every Monday; instruction on meditation and guided meditation from Monday to Friday; access to the temple shrine rooms for your personal practice. A shop and a library of audio and video teachings of Sogyal Rinpoche is available for your personal study.
Before you arrive, we will talk with you to help you determine whether a personal retreat is the best option for you, or if another type of retreat would be more suitable.
Rigpa students
Personal retreat can be an invaluable way of “intensifying” your home retreat in the perfect retreat environment of Lerab Ling. You may continue to follow the home retreat programme (transmissions or the parallel programme) and, at the same time, deepen your personal practice over a period ranging from two days to one month.
You receive advice on setting up your personal study and practice schedule. And, if you wish, you may join the practising sangha for daily group practices in the temple. You have access to the temple shrine rooms for your personal practice and a selection of Sogyal Rinpoche's best is available for your personal study at any time of the day.
