Making the Teachings available
Ever since Buddhism made its way to the West in the seventies, students around the world have recorded teachings of great masters like Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche and Sogyal Rinpoche.
The Rigpa archives hold an incredible number of these unique teachings which were recorded on audio and videotapes which are naturally subject to decline. So, to keep these recordings safe we digitised all of them.
We want to share and celebrate the news that virtually all the video tapes (2,630) in the archive are now digitised and safe on our servers. While we will continue to complete digitising the remaining audio tapes the focus will now shift to taking these recordings and making them secure and accessible in the Rigpa archive database.
In 2025 your donations will contribute to upgrading this database. This will create the conditions to now enter all these digital videos and audios into it. After they have been correctly identified, checked, described, transcribed if needed, organised and labelled.
Teaching by teaching will then be accessible to researchers; and students through courses like the All-Encompassing Path to Enlightenment ( AEPE ) and special releases of the collected works of these great masters. This important groundwork will also form the basis of key projects such as cataloguing and compiling the best teachings of Sogyal Rinpoche.
